Our top 5 upcoming games of 2016

2015 was a great year for gaming, from the captivating story of the Witcher 3 to the freedom and post release mod support of Fallout 4, we also had several other games which could have really made it big but for one reason or the other they couldn’t for instance the buggy release of Batman Arkham Knight and the one after the other delays of GTA V which killed the excitement at least for us. We also had several titles which improved upon their previous mistakes e.g. Assassins creed Syndicate. But that’s for 2015 what treats and surprises are we in for in 2016 and what should we expect from several titles. Here’s our top 5 upcoming games of 2016 that we absolutely can’t wait for.

Number 5: No Man’s Sky

Now this is a new title and one of the game we are really excited for simply because it promises to give a massive amount of freedom in a vast open world or worlds shall we say because the game will allow you to travel between 18 quintillion worlds according to some Sources and as it goes by their website which mentions infinite procedurally generated galaxy which is a fancy way of saying the game will develop worlds as you play through the game, which is pretty cool.

“Whether a distant mountain or a planet hanging low on the horizon, you can go there” -: No-Mans-Sky.com
The Game features different planets with varying landscape and different species of creatures and your sole purpose is exploration and survival the game involves ship battles, and first person action and many different places to explore. Different worlds will have different challenges for you to overcome, you will also be able to explore for clues relating to the very existence of the universe and share your findings with other players.

4: Far Cry Primal
There’s something about games placed in historical times or events that intrigue us and games placed in ancient time frames are really my favourites, Far cry 4 was a good game but it didn’t really blow us away, the game just felt repetitive, like go there blow that up, go there secure that tower but the game never managed to keep you captivated much into the story now we might be wrong but that’s how we felt playing the game, the open world was good but nothing compared to the likes of some other games, but enough about Far cry 4, we believe Ubisoft would definitely up their game and an example of this could be that Assassins creed, Unity didn’t do well and Assassins creed Syndicate has positive reviews. So Far Cry Primal being set in the stone age, which is a different time frame than other Far Cry games, kind of says that it’ll be a changed game and Ubisoft is trying to do something new for the better. So basically in short what happens is you’re a sole survivor of a tribe and you have to explore and survive the stone age while building your own new tribe, you will hunt Mammoths and other animals, fight other tribes and survive.

“This isn’t the Stone Age as you know it. This is the Stone Age with irreverence and mayhem”-: Far-Cry.Ubisioft.com

“Discover the majestic and savage land of Oros with its breathtaking valley of redwood forests, harsh taiga, and humid swamps where you can see Earth as it was before man laid claim to it.”-: Far-Cry.Ubisioft.com

You will be able to domesticate wild animals and yes that includes sabretooths, wolves and other predators as well but you start off with an owl, Far Cry Primal also promises a vast open world with beautiful landscapes, mountains, forests, swaps, rivers it will try it’s outmost to give you a feel of times past and create an immersive gameplay but all with some mayhem cause hey at the end of the day it’s Far Cry.

Number 3: Lego Marvel’s Avengers
Avenger’s Assemble! Or shall I say Gamer’s Assemble, now this one is for those who say Graphics don’t equate to a good game, and I’d agree with that Graphics are only a small part of the equation (Wow I’m using maths terms), graphics increase immersion which in turn makes games better but games can be good even without photo realistic graphics and Lego games are a great example of that. The Lego Marvel’s Avengers goes on pretty much like the movies it basis on “The Avengers” and also “Age of Ultron” you take control of powerful super heroes i.e. The Hulk, Captain America, Iron man etc. and go up against Loki a demigod and his famous army, and later an Artificial Intelligence villain Ultron created cause of Tony stark’s crazy experiment with Loki’s Staff, the experiment which was supposed to create a better J.A.R.V.I.S goes wrong so on so forth, pretty much like the movies.

“Play and unlock more than 100 new and returning characters with an array of exciting capabilities, including fan favourites like Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor”-: Lego.com

You will be able to unlock additional characters almost a 100 other characters, use special powers and abilities, be able to free roam, collect gold brick, unlock new stuff and of course plan and carry out missions with your avengers’ team. Oh and yea Hulk’s bottom’s still stay intact and you can play with the Hulkbuster.

Number 2: Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC

Boy o boy where to start, firstly let me explain that I’m aware that this is a DLC and not a full game but the developers of Witcher 3 promise a new location as big as the Witcher 2 and a whole new story too which will also be bigger than that of the Witcher 2, so this might not be a new game all together but it will be as big as a whole game. Witcher 3 was our top game of 2015 heck probably the best of all time, a personal favourite and yes you could differ with your opinion. If you want to know more about the Witcher 3, in case you haven’t played it already check out our review of it HERE.

The new Witcher 3 DLC will be held in a new location called Toussaint a place where people are care free and just go on with their lives having fun without thinking about a dark secret that lies in Toussaint as the name also emphasizes that “BLOOD & WINE”. We don’t know much details about the story apart from that it’s taking place in Toussaint, it relates to a Dark secret perhaps a vampire according to the trailer. There is a high chance of the return of some old characters from previous Witcher games e.g. Lorveth, Fringilla Vigo etc.

You can expect a great open world experience coupled with an immersive story, Witcher 3 has set a benchmark for game quality and expect this new DLC to be nothing less.

Number 1: Mafia 3

Mafia 3 in my opinion is perhaps the most underrated game ever, it doesn’t get the publicity it deserves because if it is anything like its predecessor than I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. Mafia 3 will basically be about a young veteran who was an orphan, comes back from the Vietnam War and searches for a purpose to life and a family, which he does find in a small gang and as he gets attached to them they are killed by a rival Mafia gang, now this Veteran known by the name of Lincoln goes after them for revenge and in the processor he makes some powerful friends notably Vito the main character from Mafia 2, the game takes place in New Orleans during the 60s. Mafia 2 had a great story that kept you in love with it till the end but it lacked post game quests, even the open world was not available for exploration once you finished the main story. With Mafia 3 the developers said they added lots of fun new features and gameplay mechanics as well as the open world will be available for exploration even after the ending. Mafia Games are known for immersion and you will feel that you’re really back in the 60s, retro music, cars, clothing, racial issues, Mafia wars will all give you a feel of what life was like back then.

And just in case you haven’t played Mafia 2, we highly suggest you do, you won’t regret it, it has a very emotional and touching story. That was it for our top 5 upcoming games and yes we know we missed upon some titles like Dark souls and Uncharted but we tried to give room to the ones that were less heard of but equally deserving. Do let us know your favourites and which games you’re waiting for. Cheers!

How the Witcher 3 silently became a benchmark for new games

Image Source Every few years we get a good captivating video game and every now and then there is are game of the decade candidates. Up till now Skyrim was considered probably the best role playing game but we reckon we might have to change our mind after playing the Witcher 3 over and over. So what makes the Witcher 3 so good? Let's start off with the fact that I never thought that Witcher 3 would convince me enough to write about it. When it got released, initially, I didn't even download it or had any desire to do so. Just munching away hours playing Fifa 15 and Skyrim (yup, taking care of my two virtual daughters), I had already played The Witcher 1 and 2 but neither of them kept me interested in the story or the sandbox open world. One thing to note is that I absolutely hated the controls in The Witcher 2: The Assassin's of kings, Ie know some of you might find them similar to The Witcher 3 but in my opinion though Witcher 3's controls are generations ahe...

A statement by Netflix from Thursday states: "Prior to its fourth-season premiere, Netflix and Media Rights Capital are thrilled to announce that House of Cards will return for a fifth season in 2017. Concurrent with the renewal, creator and showrunner Beau Willimon is departing the critically acclaimed series. The producers, cast and crew join us in wishing Beau the best in his next creative adventure." So, as it turns out there is a good and a bad news for the fans of Netflix’s original series. Today Sony officially showcased the Xperia Z5 series of its flagship phones, while Sony hasn't been having a lot success in the smartphone market. Recently it hasn't been as much successful as it once used to be in mobile phone sales, its sales have fallen in the international market which is primarily due to the highly saturated market for premium smartphones as even Samsung and Apple are having a hard time now. Sony today presented the world with what it believes a smartphone of 2015 and 2016 should be like and that is the Xperia Z5 which comes in three different variations the largest being the Xperia Z5 premium followed by the regular Xperia Z5 and lastly the smallest Xperia Z5 compact. Image Source The Xperia Z5 packs a Snapdragon 810 quad core 64 bit processor with 3 Gb of ram, 23 Mp camera, a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p screen, 2900 mah battery and a finger print scanner while the Z5 premium has all the same specs except it comes with a 5.5 inch 4k ultra HD scre...
