Microsoft is the new Apple

So today was Microsoft's Surface 4 and Lumia event, to be honest we weren't expecting much but woah! Was we were blown away or were we blown away, Surface pro 4, Surface Book, new Lumia 950 and 950XL, virtual reality gaming with hollo lens and plenty of other stuff, but these things in short made me regret buying a laptop and phone both recently. When the event started today Microsoft finally appeared to be a whole new company, a company that once led innovation and seems to be back in form to do again but this didn’t just happen today with Microsoft’s event but has been undergoing for a long time as Satya Nadella’s master plan to restore Microsoft’s supremacy with introduction of windows 10, new office 2016, Microsoft’s embracement of rival platforms and concentration on quality and innovation to the core. Microsoft has a whole new language in short and I’ve already been stunned and can’t wait to see what more Microsoft will come up with as of now here’s why we are drooling over the new MS products.

Surface Book

First of all, Surface book, okay we’re biased in writing and numbering right now why? Because the Surface book has us totally in love with it. The Surface book comes with a 13.5” 2k screen with a good 267 pixels per inch. Microsoft says the screen is optically bonded to glass which will produce better colours and true quality renders but we have to yet see how it fares up against the retina screen on the Mac-book and the iPad pro (our money is on the Surface book) the laptop slash tablet itself is made up of magnesium which has become a standard for almost all Microsoft Surface tablets. The Surface book comes with the latest 6th generation Intel processors you can get either an i5 version or an i7 version. The Surface book includes additional power in the keyboard stand wait for it…. Wait for it…. Yes, it has an additional NVidia GPU!! With GDDR5 dedicated memory but as of yet we don’t know which GPU it is we got our fingers crossed for a GTX 980M the keyboard dock very well might host additional storage space too speaking of which the dock includes an SD card slot and USB 3.0 ports and has a unique way of attaching and detaching from the screen called "dynamic fulcrum” by MS. Microsoft says it’ll be more than twice as fast as the Mac-book pro but we will have to wait and see that for ourselves. The Surface Book will cost you around $1499, it isn't cheap but it is definitely worth it. (and here I was, thinking love at first sight doesn't exist)

Surface Pro 4

Now proceeding to the Surface Pro 4. Now we all knew this was coming unlike the Surface book which was an amazing surprise. The Surface Pro 4 is predecessor of last year’s Surface Pro 3 which was received well by people and reviewer so were the other two earlier iterations. It has a 12.3” 2k screen with gorilla glass 4, 6th generation Intel i7 and i5, a special G5 chipset from Microsoft to handle optical stack, 16 GB memory an all knew improved keyboard cover (existing Surface pro 3 covers will work with it too) and storage up to 1TB but according to Microsoft the main centre of attention here is the new Surface Pen which it says has 1024 pressure point sensitivity allowing the pen to write and sketch like a real life pen and the it feels just like ink flowing on paper or glass in this case. Microsoft showed that the surface pen has an eraser as it quite obviously mocked the Apple pencil. Microsoft went off to say it didn’t even want to compare it to the rival tablets as they are simply not in the same class. Microsoft did say that it’s faster than the Mac-book air around 50% faster. You can buy the Surface pro 4 for $899 on October 26th.

Lumia 950 and 950XL

Moving on Microsoft also debuted the new Lumia phones today, the Lumia 950 and 950XL with continuum. The new Lumia phones give us a vision into what other Microsoft Windows’s powered phones should look and work like they also set a standard for other manufacturers. The larger of the two is 950XL which supports continuum, which basically means your phone can turn into an almost and I emphasize almost here, Windows’s PC when connected to a larger display. Lumia 950Xl has a 5.7” 2k QHD screen 32GB space, 4GB Ram and Snapdragon 810, while the 950 has 5.2” screen 3GB Ram and 32GB storage, more impressive thing is they have liquid cooling now we don’t know if phones need that but this will definitely help keep the snapdragon 810 cool in the 950XL both phones have a 20MP primary camera with triple led flash, 5th gen optical image stabilization, dedicated camera button and a 5MP front shooter.

Gaming with Hololens

Now these weren’t the only things Microsoft showcased they also showcased new Games for Xbox and gaming on hollo lens which was pretty impressive, Hollo Lens can sense the environment around you and allow gaming according to that Microsoft showed a demo of how robots came through walls and you had a Hollo graphic gadget on your hand and you could fight them off, the game sensed the walls and environment around you and moulded the experience according to it, it all felt very real.

Microsoft had a great Tech event not just in it's own case for itself but also for us, we enjoyed every bit of and can't wait to get our hands on the new gadgets specially the likes of the Surface Book. It is good to see Microsoft innovating something it was completely unaware of in recent few years call it the Ballmer effect or what ever but Microsoft is officially out of it and coming back to fight Apple and Google in a way it has never done before by actually supporting other platforms and accepting their dominance while putting their own services first a more Google like approach. Apple showcased the iPad pro recently but with Microsoft's event done, we know that it can't and won't beat the Surface Pro same goes for Google's pixel C but we might actually see the Surface Book challenge the Mac-book Pro to a high extent. Once more we were blown away by the Microsoft event and can't wait to see what else Microsoft has in stock.

Last year Sony released the C5 Ultra a near bezel less phone with a premium design but was ultimately a mid ranger, this year we are here again reporting about the C6, another bezel less phone with a premium design. Image Source   The phone most likely will boast a 5.5 full HD screen, an Octa core Helio P10, 16 Gb internal storage, 3 or 2 Gb Ram and will of course support 4g LTE. The leaked pictures show a bezel less design which resembles the Z3 though it's not aluminium like the later. Image Source What do you think about the phone and it's design? And how it will fare against the other mid rangers.

Xperia C5 Ultra could be your dream bezel-less phone

last week Sony announced the near bezel-less C5 Ultra, now before we jump further you should know the whole bezel-less thing only applies to its side bezels the top and bottom ones are big while the top one is actually huge, we don't particularly find complete bezel-less phones easy to use but some people actually do so if less bezel size and more screen space is your forte than this phone might interest you, also note that the top bezel is large for a good reason it house's the 13 MP selfie camera . The C5 Ultra is set to launch on 14th august for $425 the price and availability could vary in other countries. C5 Ultra runs on a Mediatek 1.7 Ghz  Octa core procesor, offer's a 6" full 1080p screen, 13 MP camera both at the front and back, 2 GB Ram, 16 GB internal storage, SD card slot and a 2930 mah battery, all in a very sleek body which still is plastic though but looks good with the Xperia design language. Oh and colour options are mint green, black and white. ...

How the Witcher 3 silently became a benchmark for new games

Image Source Every few years we get a good captivating video game and every now and then there is are game of the decade candidates. Up till now Skyrim was considered probably the best role playing game but we reckon we might have to change our mind after playing the Witcher 3 over and over. So what makes the Witcher 3 so good? Let's start off with the fact that I never thought that Witcher 3 would convince me enough to write about it. When it got released, initially, I didn't even download it or had any desire to do so. Just munching away hours playing Fifa 15 and Skyrim (yup, taking care of my two virtual daughters), I had already played The Witcher 1 and 2 but neither of them kept me interested in the story or the sandbox open world. One thing to note is that I absolutely hated the controls in The Witcher 2: The Assassin's of kings, Ie know some of you might find them similar to The Witcher 3 but in my opinion though Witcher 3's controls are generations ahe...
