Today Sony officially showcased the Xperia Z5 series of its flagship phones, while Sony hasn't been having a lot success in the smartphone market. Recently it hasn't been as much successful as it once used to be in mobile phone sales, its sales have fallen in the international market which is primarily due to the highly saturated market for premium smartphones as even Samsung and Apple are having a hard time now. Sony today presented the world with what it believes a smartphone of 2015 and 2016 should be like and that is the Xperia Z5 which comes in three different variations the largest being the Xperia Z5 premium followed by the regular Xperia Z5 and lastly the smallest Xperia Z5 compact.
The Xperia Z5 packs a Snapdragon 810 quad core 64 bit processor with 3 Gb of ram, 23 Mp camera, a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p screen, 2900 mah battery and a finger print scanner while the Z5 premium has all the same specs except it comes with a 5.5 inch 4k ultra HD screen and a 3400 mah battery while the Z5 compact comes with a 4.0 inch 720p screen. Sony says all the sets will have the same camera and will be able to focus in just 0.03 seconds and it says all these phones can last up to 2 days of use with a single charge though we doubt the 4k screen of the Z5 premium is anything near battery friendly unless Sony has some special tricks up its sleeves.

Now Sony might ditch smartphones all together that's the latest rumours going around but with the Xperia Z5 series that doesn't seem to be true but it definitely does point towards a fact that Sony might target premium smartphones market only as with the launch of the Xperia Z5 premium. In all honesty that doesn't seem like a bad idea as it should help Sony manufacture only a specific number and make it profitable but it's stepping into dangerous territory as Samsung and Apple take almost all the sales for the premium market leaving only a minor amount of sales for the likes of HTC and Sony, never the less the Z5 premium and the regular Z5 as well as the Z5 compact are great phones they feel premium and have premium specs what they do lack is probably the brand strength of Apple and Samsung, which Sony can definitely achieve as it is almost as diversified as Samsung and can throw cash around from it's cash cows after all Samsung and Apple did the same.
