Our Top 5 upcoming Android phones

It’s that time of the year again, the smell of baked aluminum and glass with a sprinkle of Android goodies on top ( Okay I’m horrible at coming up with catchy lines) in short there’s going to be all sorts of new tech coming from every corner and a large part of that will be smartphones with the tech giants like Samsung, HTC and Huawei battling it out for the best smartphone of 2015, so here’s our list of upcoming smartphones which we absolutely can’t wait for as well as a bunch of rumors for each of them.

So let’s get down to it, starting with the…

1 | Samsung Galaxy S7

Let’s begin with the design, the galaxy S7 will most likely boast a glass back and metal body like the S6 as Sammy looks to shed all the complaints about cheap plastic designs or we should say already has with the likes of S6 and Note 5. This point is further strengthened with the latest leaks of Galaxy S7 press renders a few days’ back. Galaxy S7 will come with the latest Exynos 8890 Samsung’s homemade chip set and Snapdragon 820, rumors are the Exynos version will be much faster, but I would never buy a Exynos phone ever since my Note 3 cause of almost nil developer support but if you’re not into flashing custom ROMs etc. than go for Exynos but take it with a grain of salt whether it’s faster or not. The S7 will also come with 12 MP f/1.7 aperture camera for faster snapping and better low light photography, a finger print sensor, it will come with 3GB RAM if not 4GB, the battery size will be between 2550Mah to 3000Mah for long battery life, the screen resolution will most likely be 2k with size 5.5 for S7 and 5.6 or 5.7 for S7 edge respectively. Galaxy S7 will most likely come in 128GB and 64GB models there might be a 32GB model as well.

2 | HTC One M10

Tell you what this is my all-time favorite line of phone the HTC One M series, I’ve always found HTC phones to be the only credible comparison to iPhone, BB, Windows from the Android block yea sure Samsung might have upped their design game, but Sammy’s phone’s never looked flagship material before, had absolutely horrible software that lagged way too much, still does but is getting better, the issue of design still existed with majority of other android handset makers as well the software issues, but I never found HTC phones to compromise either of those two things. I have a HTC Desire HD from 2011 (I just can’t let go if it) and the phone had a decent design for back in the day and it still doesn’t lag or stutter. So my M7 doesn’t even need to be mentioned here. Most of the people complained about the camera in the One M series. M7 and M8 both took great photos in my opinion with the UltraPixel technology. We also tried the M9 and it didn’t produce the best snaps in the industry but they weren’t that bad either (*Hint* go back to UltraPixel HTC, to 2013). If HTC want the One M series to return to its place at the top and if HTC wants to survive it will have to make new leaps in innovation like it used to.

The new upcoming M10 is rumored to include the snapdragon 820 processor, a 2k 5.1-inch display, a 12 UltraPixel (Yay!) camera with optical image stabilization and laser focus, a fingerprint sensor, 4GB RAM, 128GB, 64GB and 32GB storage options. SD slot and a 3000Mah Battery. As of these specs if HTC can make the 12 MP UltraPixel camera as good as the original M7 one if not better with higher resolution and change the design but keep it beautiful and all aluminum than I see this as a worthy contender for the best of 2016 prize.

3 | LG G5

Now LG is one of those company’s which are pretty hard to predict they are always trying to be innovative sometimes making it appear weird i.e. volume rockers on the back, tiny secondary screen up top and with the G5 it’s not going to be an exception and if the rumors are correct we already know what that’s going to be.

The LG G5 will most likely come with a snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, 16MP f/0.8 aperture camera, rumors are it will boast a dual camera system for 135 degree pictures, might also work for 3D, it will boast a 2k display and a mini 1040x160 display for settings and notifications, it might also have eye ball tracking and we might finally see the backside volume buttons gone which some people like and some hated, a finger print scanner will be included and here’s the big one it might have a secret compartment at the bottom holding the battery which will allow for a Uni-body with a removable battery. Rumors suggest the secret compartment might be able to do more than just hold the battery but we aren’t quite sure about what.

4 | OnePlus 3

We simply could not let the OnePlus 3 off the list even though at this point we know almost nothing about the new handset which might drop by at the end of 2016. OnePlus has proven to be a worthy competitor even though they don’t sell many phones but that doesn’t mean they don’t make good phones if you want a pure Nexus like feel than OnePlus might be one of your closest options, they tend to have smooth speedy software coupled with great hardware and design and all for a reasonable price no wonder their invites get sold off in minutes. Though we don’t know much about the upcoming OnePlus 3 here’s what specs it might have according to rumors or Alpha Phase rumors should I say in a tech savvy way.

OnePlus 3 would most like run on a Snapdragon 820, 4 to 5 GB of RAM (could even go with 3GB), 20 MP camera, 5MP or more front camera, 4000Mah battery or more, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB storage options and will run on Oxygen OS and Android M. Remember all these are very early rumors you might want to take them with a whole spoon of salt rather than a pinch.

5 | Xperia Z6

Sony would probably be my second pick if I had to pick a favorite company in terms of software speed, design, hardware and for just over all good phones but I’m still putting the Z6 on number 5 not cause I think it’ll be a bad phone but simply because the competition is doing much better, Sony’s main problem is too many phones in too little time which doesn’t let the previous one properly shine I mean I remember writing a post about the Z5 just a little while back and well now we here, I am writing about the Z6 but never the less Sony makes great phones which not only look good but perform good and with its projects like Concept for Android you can expect even better and faster software in the future and tremendous amount of mods and developer support because of how well Sony treats the developers.

The Xperia Z6 will also most likely run on snapdragon 820, include 4GB or 5GB RAM, 128GB storage, 5 inch 2k if not 4k screen, fingerprint scanner 27MP camera and would be waterproof as always in a beautiful glass and metal Uni-body, Sony you better change the Design before you become HTC.

How the Witcher 3 silently became a benchmark for new games

Image Source Every few years we get a good captivating video game and every now and then there is are game of the decade candidates. Up till now Skyrim was considered probably the best role playing game but we reckon we might have to change our mind after playing the Witcher 3 over and over. So what makes the Witcher 3 so good? Let's start off with the fact that I never thought that Witcher 3 would convince me enough to write about it. When it got released, initially, I didn't even download it or had any desire to do so. Just munching away hours playing Fifa 15 and Skyrim (yup, taking care of my two virtual daughters), I had already played The Witcher 1 and 2 but neither of them kept me interested in the story or the sandbox open world. One thing to note is that I absolutely hated the controls in The Witcher 2: The Assassin's of kings, Ie know some of you might find them similar to The Witcher 3 but in my opinion though Witcher 3's controls are generations ahe...

House of Cards bids farewell to its lead creator with fourth season set to premier in 5 weeks.

A statement by Netflix from Thursday states: "Prior to its fourth-season premiere, Netflix and Media Rights Capital are thrilled to announce that House of Cards will return for a fifth season in 2017. Concurrent with the renewal, creator and showrunner Beau Willimon is departing the critically acclaimed series. Netflix and MRC owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Beau Willimon for his strong narrative vision for House of Cards over the show’s first four seasons. As an Academy Award-nominated writer, he made his first foray into television and built a riveting and critically acclaimed series, establishing his place in TV history. The producers, cast and crew join us in wishing Beau the best in his next creative adventure." So, as it turns out there is a good and a bad news for the fans of Netflix’s original series. On a brighter side House of Cards has been renewed for a fifth season set to premier in 2017 but, unfortunately, the man who made the TV show wh...

Sony announces the Xperia Z5, Z5 compact and Z5 premium

Today Sony officially showcased the Xperia Z5 series of its flagship phones, while Sony hasn't been having a lot success in the smartphone market. Recently it hasn't been as much successful as it once used to be in mobile phone sales, its sales have fallen in the international market which is primarily due to the highly saturated market for premium smartphones as even Samsung and Apple are having a hard time now. Sony today presented the world with what it believes a smartphone of 2015 and 2016 should be like and that is the Xperia Z5 which comes in three different variations the largest being the Xperia Z5 premium followed by the regular Xperia Z5 and lastly the smallest Xperia Z5 compact. Image Source The Xperia Z5 packs a Snapdragon 810 quad core 64 bit processor with 3 Gb of ram, 23 Mp camera, a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p screen, 2900 mah battery and a finger print scanner while the Z5 premium has all the same specs except it comes with a 5.5 inch 4k ultra HD scre...
